INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY 2021: HONORING TRAILBLAZER-MALALA YOUSAFSAI

Malala Yousafzai

International Women’s Day

This International Women’s Day, March 8, 2021, Sisterhood Sharing Sessions honors women outside of the United States who are known internationally as having made an impact in the advancement of women’s rights. This year we honor trailblazer, Malala Yousafzai.

Malala Yousafzai

Malala Yousafzai is a Pakistani activist for female education and the youngest Nobel Prize Laureate.

She is known for human rights advocacy, especially the education of women and children. Her advocacy has grown into an international movement and made her a target. In October 2012, a masked gunman boarded her school bus, and after confirming who she was, shot her in the head. Miraculously she survived and continues the fight for women’s right to an education.
