Black History Month | VP Kamala Harris

This Black History Month we honor Kamala Devi Harris. She is an American politician and Attorney. She was born, October 20, 1964 (56), in Oakland California. Kamala Harris became the first woman second in command of the highest office in our nation’s history, and the first woman of African-American and Asian- American descent, elected Vice President of the United States Of America.

She was sworn in as the 49th Vice President on January 20, 2021, after she and her Democratic running mate, now President Joseph Biden, won the 2020 elections in November. Together, they made history with the most votes cast ever in a Presidential election, with the final vote count over 81 million. Harris served as the United States Senator from California from 2017 to 2021. She also served as the Attorney General of California from 2011 to 2017. In 2003, she was elected District Attorney of San Francisco.
